If My People…2010 Reflection

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We have all heard this scripture at one time or another but what are we doing in our live to change “if”. I am a witness of what God will do. See this scripture tells us that he has given us power to influence change but it has to start with us. We must humble ourselves, understanding that God is our source and we can do nothing without him. Prayer is the key that unlocks the door. We must communicate with God for the direction in our lives. When we seek his face, my heart is fixed on those things above, I am seeking and reaching for excellence at all times. “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Then we are to turn from our wicked ways, repent. When you begin to seek the Lord with your whole heart, you will find him. When you begin to understand his grace and mercy you are left with no other choice but to repent. He said I will draw nigh to them that draw nigh me.

So what are we truly waiting on? We have got to take our lives and ministry to the next level. We must go out into the highways and hedges and compel them. We all have a work to be done. No more putting those dreams on hold, use them to build the kingdom of God. The Bible says they will know we are Christians by our love, not a title. So stop waiting for that next appointment or position, start showing love and whatever your hand finds to do, do it. “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.” Psalm 138:8

2011 is right around the corner, no more “if’s”. We are doers, no procrastinators, no dream holders, we are vision workers, we are writing the vision and making it plain, we are walking in obedience because it has always been better than sacrifice. We are walking by Faith and not by sight, tearing down strongholds, surrendering our will to God and walking in transparency so that they may see him and glorify our father in heaven. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Remember Jesus is the reason for the season. “What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:1-2

Happy Holidays, I’ll see you in 2011, God Bless

    • Thank you girl! I’ve been fighting to put words to how I’ve been feeling and this just about sums it up. I am so ready for change, if we could all just realize that God has given us power to speak those things as though they were.
